May 2013, An Afternoon of Hula with Na Maka O Pu'uwai Aloha
The families of DSOH enjoyed an afternoon of hula with Halau Na Maka O Pu'uwai Aloha, Kumu Hula Mandi Scott. The hospitality that we were shown was unmatched; we were welcomed with open arms and showered with aloha! Keiki and parents were taught 'Ulupalakua by Kumu Mandi and her halau; and had a special book reading of, Maka the Magic Music Maker, by author Shannon Scott. To find out more information about Na Maka O Pu'uwai Aloha, visit their website at http://namakahula.com/.
On behalf of DSOHawaii, we want to send out a MAHALO NUI LOA to Mandi & Shannon Scott and Halau for a special day!!

April 28, Peter's Prom
We want to congratulate Chelsea Ferrick, a member of our DSO family, as she was crowned queen at the 2013 Peter's Prom, a special needs prom this past April. A special message from her mom, Dee:
"Chelsea is the light of our families lives . Everything I do is inspired by her, she teaches me to not limit myself, and to remember that with God by my side, everything is possible, and it certainly helps to have an Angel in my corner."
